The Swedish Social Democratic Party is organising a memorial ceremony for the late Anna Lindh, to be held in the Blue Hall at Stockholm City Hall on Friday 19 September at 11.00 a.m., for specially invited guests.

The memorial ceremony for Anna Lindh that is being arranged in the Blue Hall on Friday morning will be filled with music and words. The performers will include singers Eva Dahlgren and Ann Sofie von Otter. Esa-Pekka Salonen will conduct performances of music. Prime Minister Göran Persson will speak and actress Stina Ekblad will recite a poem.

Close to 1 300 guests will be present in the Blue Hall. Representatives from around the world have been invited.

A detailed programme for the memorial ceremony will be presented later.

The Swedish Social Democratic Party is establishing a memorial fund in memory of Anna Lindh. The purpose of the fund will be to work against all forms of violence, for democracy and human rights and for sustainable development in support of a good life.

It will not be possible to leave flowers at the memorial ceremony at Stockholm City Hall on Friday.
